Both sides is plain (no slotted). Material is Brass, which is a tribological more robust alternative than stainless steel nuts, when paired with stainless steel screws in marine environment. Also perfect if you need to replace a smaller Ø10 barrel nut with gone threads (then you need to drill a Ø12 hole).
